What are you going to do?

  • A completed (Research) Master’s degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences focusing on environmental psychology.
  • Experience and interest in teaching students.
  • Interest in innovative teaching methods.
  • Good oral and writing skills in English and preferably also in Dutch.
  • Contribute to research and teaching in environmental psychology.
  • Affinity with research methods and statistical analyses in environmental psychology.
  • Experience with and/or openness to interdisciplinary collaborations and collaborations with societal partners.
  • Possession of the University Teaching qualification (UTQ) is recommended.
  • Excellent social and communicative skills and ability to work in groups.
  • Important competencies in this position are analytical capacity, presenting and result orientation.

Who are you?

We are looking for a teacher and researcher in the field of Environmental Psychology. This temporary position is within the basic unit of Environmental Psychology. The position includes 0.8 FTE teaching and 0,15 FTE research on temporary projects related to electric vehicle adoption and usage among individuals as well as organizations. These research projects include collaboration with external partners.

The candidate contributes to teaching in environmental psychology at the level of the BSc program in psychology, as well as the MSc program in Environmental Psychology. Teaching within the Faculty is provided in various teaching methods, both in English and in Dutch.

What can you expect from us?

  • In accordance with the collective labor agreement for Dutch universities, we offer a salary of at least € 3.706 (schaal 10) up to a maximum of € 4.925 (schaal 10.7) gross per month for a full-time employment contract.
  • 232 vacation hours per year, based on a 38-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). You can also work more or fewer hours in exchange for more or fewer free hours. For example, with a 40-hour workweek, you save 96 extra free hours, and with a 36-hour workweek, you lose 96 hours.
  • End-of-year bonus of 8.3% and 8% holiday allowance.
  • Extensive opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • A temporary contract for a period of 1 year and includes 0.8 FTE teaching and 0.15 FTE research on temporary projects. The position is classified in accordance with the University Job Classification (UFO) system; the UFO profile is Teacher 4. The interviews are scheduled for the end of August.

The Department of Psychology has a strong (inter)national reputation in its education and research, which is organized by means of nine research units. The candidate will be embedded in the Environmental Psychology unit which is known for their strong research focus and international activities. The Environmental Psychology unit emphasizes working with external parties and attracting funding from a broad range of sources.
