What are you going to do?
The new junior lecturer is expected to strengthen the educational component of the Department of GEM. The junior lecturer position is primarily a teaching appointment: during the first two years, 80% of the workload is devoted to teaching activities and 20% to professional development, followed in the third year by a 90–10 allocation between teaching and development, respectively. Therefore, we seek a candidate who is committed to excellence in teaching. Educational tasks can be fulfilled at the bachelor as well as the Master level. You will supervise tutorial groups and Bachelor thesis projects and assist in grading of Bachelor and Master courses. There are also opportunities to contribute to the development of our education and the embedding of societal themes in our curricula. The specific tasks will depend on your own expertise and experience.
Who are you?
To qualify, you…
- hold, or are close to completing, an MSc in one of the Economics and Business programmes at FEB or a closely related field, preferably International Business.
- have experience as a student assistant or comparable work experience in an education environment.
- are fluent in English.
- have excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
- function well in an international environment.
- have good interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully work both independently and in a team.
What can you expect from us?
- In accordance with the collective labor agreement for Dutch universities, we offer a salary of at least € 3.546 up to a maximum of € 5.538 (Schaal 10) gross per month for a full-time employment contract.
- 232 vacation hours per year, based on a 38-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). You can also work more or fewer hours in exchange for more or fewer free hours. For example, with a 40-hour workweek, you save 96 extra free hours, and with a 36-hour workweek, you lose 96 hours.
- End-of-year bonus of 8.3% and 8% holiday allowance.

- Contract duration: An appointment for a period of three years, with an assessment requiring a positive evaluation at the end of the first year of employment.
