The two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Programme Religious Diversity in a Globalised World (ReD Global) is a prestigious, EU-funded educational programme in the field of religious diversity, religious identities and their complex interplay with society and globalisation.

The Faculty of Religion, Culture and Society in Groningen coordinates the MA programme offered at the University of Groningen and its partners: University of Córdoba (Spain), University of Coimbra (Portugal), University of Bern (Switzerland), National Autonomous University of Mexico, University of Guanajuato (Mexico), University of Salvador (Argentina), University of Brasilia (Brazil), The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

As the programme coordinator of ReD Global you play a central role. Together with the programme director, Professor Lautaro Roig Lanzillotta you constitute the consortium secretariat, which is located at the University of Groningen. You are the main point of contact for current and prospective students, for staff and for externals. You coordinate and carry out a broad range of tasks with different levels of complexity in close cooperation with local and international colleagues. The final responsibility lies with the programme director.

What are you going to do?

The Secretariat will closely support the Programme Director in the coordination and day-to-daymanagement of the programme, specifically in tasks relating to quality assurance, application, selection and admission, student administration, EMJM insurance, mobility coordination and grant funding, and all matters concerning communication with the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). You ensure a smooth and high-quality education process and act as a key link between students, academic staff, internal services and international partners.

Your responsibilities:

  • Form the Red Global Secretariat and provide support to the Programme Director in the day-to-day coordination of the programme.
  • Provide support for the UG Director of Studies and Course Coordinator in educational facilities and the practical delivery of education.
  • Represent the consortium in matters concerning communication with the EACEA.
  • Manage student administration and act as first point of contact for students.
  • Taking a lead role in the admissions and selection process in collaboration with central admissions, and the consortium and programme director.
  • Inform, advise and support students regarding study progress and student life.
  • Monitor programme progress, identify bottlenecks and assist academic members by the continuous improvement of the programme.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues, central university services and international partners.
  • Monitor marketing, recruitment and (re)application of Erasmus Mundus programmes.

Who are you?

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with:

  • Academic (wo) or applied sciences (hbo).
  • Proficiency in English, Dutch and preferably Spanish.
  • Experience in a comparable position.
  • Experience in an educational or international academic environment.

What can you expect from us?

  • In accordance with the collective labor agreement for Dutch universities, we offer a salary of at least € 3.546 up to a maximum of € 5.538 (schaal 10) gross per month for a full-time employment contract.
  • 232 vacation hours per year, based on a 38-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). You can also work more or fewer hours in exchange for more or fewer free hours. For example, with a 40-hour workweek, you save 96 extra free hours, and with a 36-hour workweek, you lose 96 hours.
  • End-of-year bonus of 8.3% and 8% holiday allowance.
  • Extensive opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • The position is classified as Programme Coordinator according to the UFO (University Job Rankings) job profiles. Ideally, the successful applicant will work 60%, spread over the week.  The position is a temporary contract for the period starting 1-7-2026 or 1-8-2026, depending on the possibilities of the applicant, until 30-11-2028 (the end date of the project).  We would like to invite you to apply for this position also if your current position is of a larger formation size than 0,6 fte. The Faculty of Religion, Culture and Society is one of the founding faculties of the University of Groningen (1614). Being part of a public university, it aims to perform cutting-edge research and teaching in a wide variety of disciplines in the fields of theology and religious studies. We investigate religions as cultural phenomena and social forces in diverse contexts in the past and present. By generating and sharing scholarly knowledge, the Faculty aims to create impact and to contribute to a sustainable society, offering the public and government credible resources for reflection on religion and society.

The faculty offers two Bachelor’s Programmes, a one-year Master’s Programme with five tracks,, a two-year Research Master’s Programme, a PhD-programme, and several post-academic courses. We host one research institute and 5 research centres and participate in various networks.

As the coordinator of ReD Global you will be part of the professional staff team of the Faculty. Hierarchically, the managing director of the faculty will be your supervisor. Functional management on the job will be by the director of the ReD Global consortium and the director of the ReD Global programme.
